Goldfish keeping is very popular these days. If you want t buy a goldfish for your aquarium, you could buy a aqua plant too. A Plant can make the tank look better but it can cause you some problems if you are just starting out and do not know what to do. There are two types of plant for your aquarium: artificial and real plants. They can also be partially of fully submerged.

If you are just starting out, it is recommended to buy an artificial plant. However, if you have been keeping goldfish for some time now you can choose any type you think works best for you. It is best to know what problems you can have by adding a plant to your aquarium.

It is important when you add the plant to your aquarium. If you add your plant when you set up your aquarium it will be okay because in the first week of testing the water parameters can be stabilized. When you add a plant to your tank, the water quality changes and it can hurt your goldfish. That is why it is very important to do daily water changes when you add a plant to your tank and the goldfish are swimming there. Remember to add one plant at a time an do water changes so that the ph, oxygen level, nitrites and ammonia support will not make your fish sick.

Artificial plants look good, provide shelter for the goldfish and most importantly last longer. Silk plants are can sometimes be better than plastic ones. These can hurt your goldfish if it has very sensitive body parts like the Black Moor, Bubble Eye or the Pompom goldfish have.

The real plant is that which your goldfish eat and you will have to replace them. The biggest problem with these plants is that they do not last longer and can be a potential source of disease. You can add flukes to your aquarium without even knowing it because you did not quarantine that plant. Always quarantine new plants and goldfish before you add them to the tank.

To keep algae under control: do not leave the UV light more than 8 hours every day, your tank must be out of direct sunlight, remove uneaten food, clean your tank and do 25% water changes every week. To learn more about goldfish plant visit Goldfish2Care4.com.
